DISTRICT CALENDAR
The district calendar for the 2008-2009 school year has been approved and is located on the SCHOOL INFORMATION section of our web site.

You can also view or download the 2008-2009 calendar here.

The Board of Education is changing
the way it does business...

  • New Committee of the Whole meeting one week prior to the regular board meeting allows the public greater access to the board and its decisions.
  • Board discusses its committee work and agenda items in public one week before voting on issues.
Earlier this year, the board held a series of public meetings that featured budget presentations by building principals and district administrators.

For more information about the Committee of the Whole and the entire year's schedule of meetings, visit the Board of Education meeting page.

Message From the Principal

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,

As the warmer weather approaches and we enter the final several weeks of the school year, let me pass along a few important reminders.

1.  More than ten unexcused absences will result in Withdrawal of Credit status. Naturally, if students are ill they should remain at home, however, excused absences must be documented.  If there is a question regarding your child's attendance you may check the portal or with the attendance office.

2.  Standards of attire become more problematic as the weather becomes warmer.  Excessively short clothing including skirts, shorts and shirts are unacceptable and will not be permitted.  Shirts must cover all areas in front from the shoulder to the collarbone and to the pant waistline.  If there is a question, you may refer to the student handbook, contact administration in the offices in Reider, Clayton or Fine Arts.

May and June are filled with many special events and activities.  Please check the school web page for a full listing of these events.  A sampling includes the Art/Tech Expo on May 8, the Band Concert on May 13, the Choral Concert on May 20, The Senior Academic Awards Dinner at Eagle Ridge on May 21, and the ROTC Awards Dinner on May 30.

Thank you for your continued help and support as we complete the final two months of the school year.

Sincerely,

Anthony J. Gaita
